Huge thanks to Les McKeown for auctioning off his favourite red stage jacket on ebay to raise funds which went to Broomhouse School's fundraising project, The Big Project.

The £800 raised both by auctioning off the jacket, a transatlantic phonecall  and kind donations from Les' fans on both sides of the Atlantic will benefit many of the children at Broomhouse Primary, where Les himself went to school in the 1960s.

A Big thank you to all our sponsors, bands, helpers and of course guests who helped us raise £32,000 @ BFTP 2!!

The Scottish Retail Consortium, the organisation representing Scotland’s shops, has donated over two thousand pounds to children’s charity, KidsCharities UK. The money was raised at the Scottish Retail Consortium and Scottish Grocers’ Federation carol concert last December.

Chairman of the SRC, Eddie Thompson, said:

‘Shops are a hugely important part of our communities, and as such, we retailers like to play our part with charities we feel strongly about.

‘We’ve chosen this new charity because it divides money between a range of children's charities carrying out good work in Scotland and beyond, and we recognise the value of the work they do to resolve the problems some of our young people face’.

Caroline McFarlan of KidsCharities UK, said:

‘Working with the Scottish Retail Consortium is a real pleasure. I am so very grateful to them and their contributors for their wonderful donation! Thanks to their successful carol concert, we have been able to benefit two Scottish charities, Barnardos and CHAS.

‘Having this kind of support is vital to the ongoing work of KidsCharities UK. Our goal is to reach out and touch as many young people in need as possible ... thanks to the SRC, we are well on our way!"
